1: Hiring procedure:

The Medical Clinic is committed to comprehensive, multidisciplinary primary medical care. We value teamwork, establishing longterm relationships with our patients, integrity, timely access to care, and preventative healthcare. You are expected to perform your duties to the best of your ability. We expect professional and courteous behaviours towards our patients, fellow staff members, and employers at all times. It is expected you will contribute to a cooperative, interactive working environment within the clinic. Once a job opportunity arises a fair assessment followed by an interview will be done. Feedback will be provided to candidates upon request.

Edgemont Medical Centre is committed to providing a safe, secure and respectful environment for all patients and staff. Words or actions that make others feel threatened or demeaned will not be tolerated and decisive action will be taken to protect patients and staff.

Disruptive Behaviour Include:

We consider the use of inappropriate words, actions or inactions as disruptive behaviour.

Inappropriate Actions/Inactions:

  • Violence (physical attacks or threats of harm)
  • Intimidation
  • Throwing, damaging property or breaking things
  • Un-welcomed physical contact
  • Failure to observe College of Family Medicine/ CPSA policies and/or contracts
  • Refusing to leave the property

Inappropriate Words (in person, by phone, or any means of communication):

  • Abusive language and yelling
  • Disrespectful or demeaning language/comments
  • Remarks, jokes or innuendos that degrade, ridicule or offend
  • Discriminatory remarks
  • Threats or threatening behaviour
  • Bullying
  • Sexual Harassment

Immediate action will be taken when incidents described above occur. Individual(s) may be asked to leave; the police may be called or the individual(s) may face dismissal from our practice.

5: Complaints procedure:

We shall give you a full and prompt reply to any complaints you make about the service we provide and try and change the way we work if this would improve care or standards to you and others. In the event of a complaint, patients have access to the Practice’s Complaints Procedure. Please provide a written complain to admin@edgemontmedical.com

6: Confidentiality:

Information concerning patients, their medical conditions and their personal lives are kept completely confidential. This means it will be shared with no one Employees are not to access patient information that is not vitally important to their job description. Patient information will not be revealed to anyone, including family members.

7: Termination of Patient Doctor relationship:
